 Yimeng Bachelor’s Chicken

Yimeng Bachelor’s Chicken is a famous traditional food in Yimeng mountain area. In the end of the 1970’s, the farmers of Mengyin County opened a small restaurant without a name in the west of Mengyin county town, and concentrated on cooking the local roosters. Because in the restaurant, the employees from the cooks to the waiters were all men and they selected roosters, people told each other about the restaurant. They said that “once having tried the ‘bachelor’s’ chicken, a person will not look at other chickens.” By and by, “Bachelor’s Chicken” became a famous local brand.
