Linyi donates masks to Gunpo, South Korea

As the COVID-19 epidemic spreads worldwide, cities abroad in close relationship with Linyi have been severely affected in various degree. To help meet the urgent needs in times of difficulties, Linyi donated 20,000 medical-use masks to sister city Gunpo, the international friendly city of Linyi in South Korea, April 20.

In a letter addressed to Linyi city, mayor of Gunpo city Han Dae Hee described the donation as a sign of friendship and solidarity that "we are expecting for a bright future in cooperation on sectors including economy and culture."

Linyi and Gunpo are the internationally friendly and neighboring cities that separated only by a stripe of water.  Since the establishment of international friendly relations as sister cities in 2012, Gunpo has been the leading one amid Linyi’s friendly cities abroad in keeping close cooperation. At the very beginning of the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic, Mayor of Gunpo sent a letter of condolence to Linyi in the first instance, expressing the concern and support for Linyi’s anti-epidemic efforts.
