Shandong to open 40,000 new 5G base stations in 2020

The third session of the 13th CPC Shandong Provincial People's Congress kicked off on January 18th in Jinan, east China's Shandong province. Gong Zheng, governor of Shandong province delivered a report on the work of the government on behalf of the provincial government.

According to the report, China's first 5G high and new-tech video pilot park was set up in Qingdao and over 10,000 5G base stations were established in Shandong last year.

In 2020, Shandong will accelerate the layout of the new infrastructure construction, with the building of 40,000 new 5G base stations and a provincial block-chain industrial park. And the scene application will be speeded up in areas including financial science and technology, e-government and social governance.

Great efforts will be made to expand effective investment, with focus on cutting-edge projects such as Shandong Sinocera 5G key materials and Inspur cloud computing equipment, and major platforms including National Supercomputer Center in Jinan and Qingdao 5G High and New-tech Video Pilot Park.
