Linyi to launch door-to-door registration for 7th population census

Linyi will launch the door-to-door registration for the comprehensive pilot work of the seventh nationwide population census, in accordance with the requirements at both national and provincial level. The household registration was formally carried out in Tianping Block in Daiyue District in Tai’an, Shandong Province, on June 1, marking the most critical and important working stage of the whole pilot work.

The seventh nationwide census this year is a major survey of China’s national conditions and strength. The provincial 7th nationwide census comprehensive pilot work was launched from the mid-May in Tai’an. The work is a practical rehearsal for the official census and registration to be carried out soon. The purpose of the rehearsal is mainly to test the feasibility and rationality of the census plan, the new practice and organization mode of the census, so as to provide referential experience for the provincial census.

In order to ensure the smooth development of the pilot work, Tianping Block in Daiyue District was divided into 32 census areas and 314 census communities, and selected 320 census instructors and census takers to carry out the pilot work in a solid and orderly manner. At the same time, the block has carried out extensive publicity for the pilot work through various manners, such as notices and open letters, picture posters, slogans, and videos.

The block has carried out training in community division, door-to-door survey, registration, quality control and data acquisition procedures, as well as other preparatory work, laying a solid foundation for pilot registration.
