Fifth Shandong Culture and Tourism Consumption Season to open in mid-April

According to a press conference held on April 7 by Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Fifth Shandong Culture and Tourism Consumption Season will be launched in mid-April simultaneously in 16 cities of Shandong. It will last till October, carried out in a synchronous and coordinated manner at provincial level, municipal level, county level, town level, and village level.

The consumption season will enhance the in-depth integration of culture, tourism and relevant consumption. With efforts made on both the supply side and demand side, it will actively carry out mass-oriented, people-benefiting culture and tourism activities, through direct financial subsidies to consumers, sales discount, support from financial institutions, among other means.

As an important brand event to promote culture and tourism consumption, Shandong province has held four consumption seasons consecutively, and is adding new highlights to this year’s activities. According to Zhang Baike, director of the division of industrial development of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, in addition to e-commerce platforms which have already been introduced in previous years, such as UnionPay Cloud QuickPass, the consumption season this year is newly introducing representative leading e-commerce platforms in China, such as Trip.com Group and Tuniu.

In addition, the mode and process of the issuance of consumer coupons have been optimized, so as to improve consumer experience, as well as to strengthen the fine management and efficient utilization of the funds for the consumption season.
