Linyi ranks 71st on China's top 100 city list

Linyi, the largest city with both area and population in East China's Shandong province, made the list of China's 100 strongest cities in 2021, along with 12 other cities in the province, according to a list compiled by Shanghai-based Warton Economic Institute based on 2020 data regarding gross domestic product, household savings, as well as development in science, education, culture, healthcare, and environmental protection.

Linyi ranked 71st on the list, while another 12 cities in Shandong were also listed, namely Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weifang, Dongying, Zibo, Weihai, Jining, Binzhou, Tai'an, Dezhou, and Heze.

In recent years, Linyi has seen rapid development in its business environment, transportation, manufacturing industry, and tourism resources. 

Gross domestic product of Linyi City totaled 117.68 billion yuan in first quarter of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 18.5 percent.
