Linyi signs letter of intent with Ondo State of Nigeria

Signing ceremony of letter of intent between Linyi and Ondo State of Nigeria on the establishment of friendly relationship was hosted in Linyi City, east China’s Shandong Province on June 10.

Linyi, June 11 (Linyi China) – Signing ceremony of letter of intent between Linyi and Ondo State of Nigeria on the establishment of friendly relationship was hosted in Linyi City, east China’s Shandong Province on June 10. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State of Federal Republic of Nigeria and Meng Qingbin, Deputy Secretary of Linyi Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Linyi City, attended the ceremony.

Meng delivered a welcoming speech for guests from Ondo State, looking forward to the bright future of bilateral cooperation between Linyi and Ondo. As a historical and cultural city full of charm and vitality, Linyi registered to be increasingly modernized with its sound ecological environment, advancing trade and logistics, flourishing enterprises startups, and developed industry systems, Meng said. Correspondingly, Ondo State had been taken as the most important base of wood production in Nigeria, providing complementation for Linyi’s industries.

By promoting economic and trade cooperation in accordance with the principles of mutual benefit and enhance the cooperation between the enterprises of both sides in the fields of trade, investment and agriculture, etc., a long-term cooperation between the two parties based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, mutual respect and common development could be established, according to Meng.

LETTER OF INTENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LINYI, P.R. CHINA AND ONDO STATE, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FRIENDLY CO-OPERATIVE RELATIONSHIP

Date: 10th June, 2018

The City of Linyi, P. R. China and Ondo State, Federal Republic of Nigeria, through mutual understanding and exchanges, are establishing a close and friendly relationship. In order to build a long-term cooperation between the two parties, based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, mutual respect and common development, through friendly consultation, the following intents are agreed by both sides:

1. Both sides agree to establish friendly co-operative relationship.

2. Both sides shall actively promote economic and trade cooperation in accordance with the principles of mutual benefit and enhance the cooperation between the enterprises of both sides in the fields of trade, investment and agriculture, etc.

3. Both sides shall carry forward the exchanges of culture, education, science and technology to enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

4. Done in duplicate in Chinese and English, both texts being authentic, and each side retaining one copy.
