Linyi in pics: 7000-year-old remains in Neolithic period are discovered in Linyi

Back by the local authorities of water and cultural relics, the Shandong Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeology Research Institute has found moat-surrounded settlement of Beixin Culture in Neolithic period in Yinan County, Linyi, east China’s Shandong Province, between November 2019 and August 2020. 

As the earliest remains of Beixin Culture in Neolithic period found in Linyi area, the discovery of this moat-surrounded settlement improve regional culture pedigree and provide valuable materials for studying cultural and regional characteristics of Beixin Culture in Yishu River basins.

Reportedly, dating back over 6100 years to 7300 years of history, Beixin Culture, a kind of Neolithic culture, was widespread in the yellow river downstream, which is immensely interesting archaeologically. As a formed complete settlement, its architectures are all half under the earth. The ancient settlers of Beixin Culture were specialized in manufacturing the implements which are mad of stone, bone, antler and mussel from sites.
