Wang Xizhi (303—361), Han nationality, was of Langya descent (presently the territory of Linyi,Shandong Province), a famous calligrapher of Eastern Jin Dynasty who was noted as the “Calligraphy Sage”. His handwritings have combined the different styles of Li Calligraphy, Cao Calligraphy, Kai Calligraphy and Xing Calligraphy into his own and have a far-reaching influence.
Preface of the Orchid Pavilion, the representative work of Wang XiZhi, has been reputed to be the No. 1 Xing Calligraphy Work.
