Linyi International Airport's new terminal enters service

LINYI, Dec. 26 – A new terminal at Linyi International Airport was inaugurated today and will officially begin operations at 00:00 on December 27. The launch marks a new stage in Linyi's civil aviation development, equipping the city with more powerful "airborne wings" to advance its opening-up and high-quality development.

　　Hailed as the fourth and largest capacity upgrade in the airport's history, the terminal expansion and renovation project has set three records in Shandong Province for the weight, span, and area of its space frame structure. It pioneered an integrated construction model combining the control tower with secondary air traffic control radar and clinched the gold medal at the National BIM Technology Competition, establishing itself as a benchmark project for terminal construction at medium and small airports nationwide.

Located north of the existing terminal, the new facility involved a total investment of approximately 3.096 billion yuan and covers an area of 100,600 square meters. It is equipped with 15 security check channels and 17 boarding bridges, capable of handling up to 12 million passengers annually. With the new terminal now operational, service capacity has been comprehensively elevated, laying a solid foundation for building a regional aviation hub.
