As featured in a special report by Reference News, Linyi, once an isolated mountainous area in Yimeng, has undergone a remarkable transformation into a vibrant open trade hub. Evolving from a landlocked region with poor transportation access, the city has built a comprehensive commercial and logistics network covering more than 200 countries and regions, stepping steadily toward a new pattern of global trade.
Linyi's foreign trade industry has achieved a strategic upgrade from merely exporting goods to replicating mature business models worldwide. Local enterprises launch an integrated store-export model, providing overseas partners with one-stop services including goods supply, pricing, operation training and continuous restocking. At present, the city has established 70 overseas malls and warehouses across 30 countries and regions. To further support enterprises' global expansion, Linyi has rolled out 22 supportive policies and set up a special fund of 80 million yuan. Under the "hundred groups and thousands of enterprises going global" initiative, the city will organize batches of local enterprises to hold exhibitions and explore markets in Uzbekistan, Angola and other countries in 2026.

A multi-dimensional and intelligent logistics system underpins the city's opening-up drive. Linyi ranks among the top nationwide in terms of TIR-registered vehicles and cross-border freight trips, shortening the road transportation cycle to about one week. It has developed an efficient multimodal transport system including highway, railway, sea and air routes. A total of 27 China-Europe freight train routes cover 12 European countries, while port cooperation cuts comprehensive logistics costs by 20%. Digital transformation further empowers trade development. The city's digital commercial logistics platform realizes full online operations of display, transaction, delivery and financing, reducing cargo matching time from one day to 86 minutes and lowering overall costs by 11%.
Boasting an inclusive business environment, Linyi has attracted numerous foreign businesspeople to start businesses and settle down locally. These new Yimeng residents cooperate deeply with local merchants, engage in import and export trade, and serve as vital bridges for economic and trade exchanges between China and the world.

Supported by provincial-level policies, Linyi is accelerating the internationalization and digital upgrading of its commercial mall. The city strives to build itself into a global commodity distribution center and an international logistics hub, transforming the traditional local market into a modern world-class trade platform.
