Menglianggu police boosts community harmony via mediation work

Police at Menglianggu Police Station in Mengyin County have integrated Yimeng spirit into grassroots public security and dispute resolution. Since the start of 2026, the station has identified 275 disputes and settled 274 cases, achieving a success rate of 99.6 percent.

The police adopt education, legal guidance and humane persuasion to handle neighborhood conflicts. In one case, a long-standing homestead dispute between two families ended in physical conflict in March. With patient mediation, the two sides reached an agreement and reconciled.

A joint mediation mechanism combining police, village committees, senior villagers and clan elders has been established to tackle rural conflicts. In April, a tomb digging dispute between two villages was resolved through multi-party coordination, with the involved party paying compensation for losses.

For campus-related issues, the police work with schools and families to handle adolescent disputes. In May, a student injury incident caused by trivial conflicts was properly settled under joint mediation, and the two students made up with each other. The station continues to optimize multi-dimensional mediation modes to safeguard local stability.
