Linyi High-tech Zone in East China's Shandong province has cultivated 28 "youth shops" since July last year, combining the promotion of the Yimeng spirit with support for young entrepreneurs and the small-shop economy.

The zone introduced a selection mechanism that screens applicants on business entity, credit qualifications and business type, prioritizing stores with a high proportion of young operators or employees and a solid base of young customers. The shops cover specialty food, rural empowerment and leisure tourism.

With the industry youth working committee established in September this year, the zone coordinates resources and builds a shared service platform. To address difficulties in attracting customers, gaining visibility and growing revenue, it has held five youth markets for physical sales and promoted the shops more than 30 times through official new media platforms. From January to September this year, more than half of the zone's youth shops saw revenue growth of over 15 percent year-on-year.

The zone has also organized 10 public welfare activities and designated five youth shops as charity service points, encouraging young shop owners to take part in community governance and civilized city development.
