The final medal table of the 26th Shandong Province Sports Games was officially released on September 5 as the last competition concluded. Qingdao topped the gold medal standings with 353.5 golds and also ranked first in total medals, while Jinan followed in second place with 300.5 golds — both cities surpassing the 300-gold milestone to form the leading tier.
Zibo took third place with 179.5 golds, followed closely by Yantai with 177.5 golds in a tight race. Host city Linyi ranked fifth with 121.5 golds, and Weifang placed sixth with 108.5 golds.
The Games featured 38 sports and 1,081 events with a total of 1,620 gold medals, drawing 13,000 athletes and over 3,000 coaches and referees from across the province — setting records in scale, coverage, and public engagement. Outstanding results were achieved in athletics, swimming, tennis, and other events, with a batch of promising young talents emerging.
As the host, Linyi fielded its largest-ever delegation, with 1,267 athletes qualifying for finals across 37 sports, 48 disciplines, and 883 events, and all 33 ball-game teams advancing to the finals. The delegation ultimately won 121.5 golds, 69 silvers, and 98 bronzes for a total of 288.5 medals and 5,629 points — ranking fifth in the province in all three core metrics of gold medals, total medals, and overall points. This marked a historic best for Linyi, jumping from ninth place at the previous edition, and achieved a "double harvest" of athletic achievement and sportsmanship.
Strong events such as athletics, basketball, and cycling delivered further success; ball games including football, rugby, and tennis saw multiple breakthroughs; and emerging sports like breakdancing, gymnastics, and sport climbing rose rapidly. On August 29, Linyi swimmer Yu Yue won gold in the boys' 15-year-old 200m butterfly with a time of 2:07.29 — the delegation's 100th gold of the Games, hitting its pre-event target ahead of schedule.
