The annual Caowa traditional Spring Festival market opened on Feb 6, brimming with festive energy and attracting visitors from neighboring cities as well as media attention.
Journalists from Xinhua News Agency's Shandong branch and Farmer's Daily were on the ground, immersing themselves in the lively scene and documenting what many call a quintessential "taste of Chinese New Year."

Visitors, some arriving by chartered buses from cities like Lianyungang, Suqian, Qingdao, and Yantai, weaved through stalls laden with holiday goods. From fresh produce and handmade specialties to folk decorations and practical items, the market offered an abundant selection for shoppers eager to take the festive spirit home.

The market was also a feast for the senses, with the aroma of local delicacies filling the air. Sizzling fried buns, savory dumplings, sticky-sweet rice cakes, and the rich flavor of Linyi-style stir-fried chicken created a distinct culinary memory of Linshu. Long queues formed at food stalls, where steaming dishes served not just sustenance but also the shared hope and anticipation for the coming new year.
