Bahu Town in Hedong District is honored as China's Hometown of Lotus Roots, boasting vast lotus wetlands with hundreds of ornamental varieties. In the past, lotus planting only focused on crop sales with limited added value and tourism development.
In early summer, continuous lotus ponds form scenic landscapes drawing tourists nationwide. Villagers cultivate over 100 ornamental lotus breeds for nationwide flower wholesale, while integrating lotus picking, rural sightseeing and homestay tourism to expand income channels. The ecological wetland landscape also upgrades rural living environments and forms a distinctive eco-agriculture tourism brand.
Lotus eco-industry opens a sustainable revitalization path for waterside villages. Linyi will develop more characteristic aquatic agricultural tourism zones to realize coordinated ecological, economic and cultural benefits for rural areas.
