As a key supporting event of the National Conference on Social Etiquette and Civility in Rural Areas, a national outstanding literary and artistic performance on rural custom reform was held at Linyi Grand Theater on the afternoon of July 16.

A total of 12 representative programs selected from over 150 national works took the stage, including sketches, folk music, local operas and ethnic singing and dancing. Works such as Talk About Marriage Prices and Wedding Gifts target outdated customs like high bride prices and extravagant banquets, while pieces like Ode to New Rural Customs and Poetic Villages showcase livable villages shaped by civilized norms. Artists from Shanxi, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang and other provinces adopted local folk art forms to narrate grassroots changes brought by custom reform. All performances are created, directed and performed by villagers, carrying authentic rural vitality.

The cross-provincial art exchange takes folk culture as a carrier to spread civilized rural concepts nationwide. The immersive performances make rural civility easy to accept and resonate with audiences from all regions.
