From July 13 to 17, Linyi Federation of Trade Unions launched the annual summer cooling campaign jointly with the special fund of China Staff Development Foundation, focusing on new employment groups and high-temperature frontline workers. Service stations set up at city workers’cultural palace provide chilled watermelon, mung bean soup, free box meals, herbal drinks and purified water for outdoor laborers. Over 500 free hot meals have been distributed, benefiting more than 800 workers including sanitation staff, delivery riders and construction personnel.
The union arranges full-time volunteers to distribute cooling supplies every day and communicate with workers to learn about their practical difficulties. Permanent service stations maintain daily supplies throughout the hot season, forming a long-term care mechanism for frontline practitioners. The warm volunteer action echoes the civilized spirit advocated at the National Conference on Social Etiquette and Civility in Rural Areas, reflecting the city's care for grassroots laborers.
The summer cooling program delivers tangible warmth to outdoor workers. The people-centered service mechanism improves urban civility and fosters a harmonious social atmosphere in Linyi.
