Fourth Yihe Night opera show kicks off at Linyi People's Square

The launching ceremony of the Fourth Yihe Night Small Opera Exhibition took place on the evening of July 28 at Linyi People's Square.

The event serves as a landmark program of Linyi's Yimeng Spirit Promotion Month, the first special publicity month themed on inheriting the Yimeng Spirit launched in July this year. A total of 29 outstanding original plays selected across the city will be staged during the exhibition.

The show adopts an innovative dual-mode arrangement including municipal centralized performances and cross-district tours. Five municipal galas will run from July 28 to August 1 at 19:30 every night. The cross-district tour will be held from August 5 to August 8 in High-tech Zone, Mengyin County, Tancheng County and Luozhuang District respectively. Classic works such as Bridge of Heart, Crispy Fried Fish and Sunflowers Bloom Freely were staged at the opening ceremony.

Over the past four years since the launch of the small opera creation program, Linyi has produced more than 800 original operas and cultivated over 16,000 rural literary volunteers. The brand "Cultural Programs Created and Enjoyed by Local Residents" has been recognized as a national model case for grassroots public cultural services. Many award-winning works have toured universities and military camps nationwide, acting as vital carriers for passing on the Yimeng Spirit, improving grassroots governance and integrating culture with tourism.
