Linyi junior tennis players set city record at provincial games

Linyi's teenage tennis team achieved the best performance in local history at the tennis events of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games, which concluded on July 26. Twenty-eight athletes from Sai Dian Tennis Club represented Linyi and claimed 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 7 bronze medals, plus nine fifth-place finishes, marking a historic breakthrough for Linyi's youth tennis sector.

The tournament featured intense competition with variable weather and challenging court conditions testing athletes’stamina, tactical flexibility and mental resilience. Linyi's young players demonstrated tenacious baseline rallies and smooth net coordination during team matches, while remaining calm in decisive single-game duels. They fully embodied the positive, hardworking spirit of Yimeng youth and respected all opponents and referees.

The outstanding results stemmed from long-term systematic training and integrated sports-education development in Linyi. Coaches refined technical movements and built complete physical and psychological training plans during pre-games preparation, while young athletes sacrificed rest for consistent training to overcome weak points.

Moving forward, Linyi tennis team will summarize competition experience, upgrade youth talent pipelines and continuously lift local competitive tennis standards to achieve better results in future provincial and national tournaments.
