Fourth Yihe Night opera shows draw large crowds amid hot weather

The third municipal centralized performance of the Fourth Yihe Night Small Opera Exhibition was staged at Linyi People's Square on July 30. Six original grassroots operas were presented to enthusiastic local audiences despite high nighttime temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.

The performance lineup included well-crafted local works Red Vests, Blood and Milk, Handcart Paves the Nation and Red Yihe. The vivid plots depicting red memories and grassroots governance struck a chord with audiences of all ages.

Seats on site were fully occupied, and many viewers stood along both sides of the stage to watch the shows. Hot summer weather did not dampen local residents’passion for grassroots cultural performances.

The Yihe Night brand has become a signature public cultural program of Linyi, delivering free, accessible stage performances to citizens every summer. The municipal shows run until August 1, followed by cross-district touring performances covering all counties and districts of Linyi to spread red culture and folk stories to grassroots communities.
