Track and field events conclude at Linyi Olympic Sports Park

All track and field competitions of the 26th Shandong Prouince Sports Games successfully finished at Linyi Olympic Sports Park Stadium on August 4.The stadium, with a capacity of 57,000 spectators, hosted 93 track and field events covering sprint, distance running, jumping and throwing. Athletes from all 16 prefecture-level cities of Shandong competed for medals over six days of intense matches under hot summer weather.

Athletes overcame high temperature and humid conditions to deliver outstanding performances, repeatedly breaking personal bests and provincial youth records. Multiple gold medals were claimed in men's shot put, women's 5,000 meters, pole vault and javelin events.

Well-organized venue operation, medical support, traffic guidance and volunteer services guaranteed smooth competition order. The high-standard stadium and comprehensive service system won unanimous praise from coaches, athletes and provincial event officials.The track and field tournament, the largest single event of the provincial games, fully demonstrated the sports vitality of Linyi as the host city of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games.
