Linyi highway staff deliver cooling supplies amid heatwave

Against sustained record-high temperatures in August, Linyi Highway Development Center launched a special cooling service campaign for frontline construction workers at S229 Yishui Reconstruction Project site and all key highway projects across the city.

On August 7, staff delivered boxes of watermelons, bottled drinking water, heatstroke prevention medicine and cooling towels to construction crews working under scorching sun. While sending supplies, supervisors conducted on-site safety inspections of construction zones.

The center issued unified hot-weather operation requirements, implementing the "early morning and late shift, midday break" schedule for all road projects. Construction units are ordered to suspend outdoor work from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to avoid extreme high temperatures.

Managers carried out comprehensive checks of temporary dormitories, construction canteens and cooling facilities, urging contractors to fully guarantee living and safety conditions for builders.

The campaign combines care for frontline laborers with strict heatwave safety management, ensuring steady progress of provincial and municipal key highway projects while protecting workers’physical health.
