Tianmeng mountain chestnut festival kicks off on September 1 with autumn harvest fun

The 2026 Tianmeng Mountain Golden Chestnut Festival officially opens on September 1 and will run until September 27 at Tianmeng Scenic Area in Yinan County. Combining mountain hiking, chestnut‑picking experience and local‑flavor food, the event invites visitors to enjoy authentic autumn rural fun.

From September 1 to 30, teachers from across the country can enter the scenic spot free of charge by presenting teacher qualification certificates. During the festival period, tourists can collect chestnuts with special tools in designated picking zones. After filling one bucket of chestnuts with burr husks, visitors may choose to exchange for cooked or raw chestnut vouchers or take the whole bucket home by bringing their own bags.

At Minor‑Tune Supermarket on‑site, freshly stir‑fried chestnuts are sold hot. Yimeng Impression Restaurant rolls out autumn‑limited chestnut‑themed dishes including chestnut stewed chicken, chestnut congee and braised pork with chestnuts. Local mountain products are also available for purchase.

Apart from chestnut‑harvest experiences, Tianmeng Mountain features well‑known recreational facilities such as the world‑first‑ranked pedestrian suspension bridge, high‑altitude bicycle rides, mountain‑top slides and paragliding. Multiple popular photo‑shooting spots are scattered across the scenic zone.

The festival integrates agricultural harvest experience, mountain tourism and local catering. It further enriches autumn travel products in Linyi and helps boost income for local farmers.
