65 scattered martyrs’remains reinterred in centralized memorial cemetery in Tancheng

Tancheng County completed the centralized reinterment of 65 scattered martyrs’remains. Previously, these martyrs were buried at separate scattered tombs across villages and field corners. They have now been moved to the specially‑built martyr memorial cemetery for unified commemoration and protection.

The scattered tombs were distributed over different towns and villages of Tancheng. Some martyrs sacrificed during revolutionary wars and local liberation campaigns, with incomplete historical records for many of them. Local civil‑affairs departments launched a full‑scale survey, verification and information‑sorting work for scattered martyr graves. Staff visited villages, interviewed elder residents and cross‑checked historical archives to confirm martyr identities and basic biographical information.

The solemn reinterment ceremony was held at the martyr cemetery. Representatives of martyrs’ families, Party‑members, cadres, students and local residents attended the event. Under ritual procedures, the remains were reverently relocated into unified standard tombs. Stone inscriptions record each martyr's name and known life information, ending decades of scattered burial status.

Centralized reinterment helps better protect revolutionary martyrs’relics, facilitates regular memorial activities for descendants, teenagers and society. Tancheng will carry out themed patriotic‑education activities at the memorial cemetery, inheriting revolutionary legacy and passing down the memory of martyrs to younger generations.
