Yimeng youth build national defense awareness at Linyi national defense education month launch

The 2026 Linyi National Defense Education Month and Linshu County Achievement Exhibition was held on September 16 at the Jiaolong National Defense Education Base in Linshu County. The theme “Carry forward the great Long March spirit, jointly build a strong national defense”, the event offered middle and primary students immersive experiences including a hundred-person war-drum performance, simulated shooting and model-aircraft flying. Through teamwork, students built willpower, acquired defense-related knowledge, strengthened their bodies and cultivated a deep love for national defense.

The launch event combined national defense education with red-history learning. The hundred-person war-drum show opened the ceremony with powerful rhythms, inspiring young participants to carry forward the Long March spirit of perseverance and unity. Simulated shooting sessions introduced basic safety rules and marksmanship skills, while model-aircraft flying demonstrations brought aerospace knowledge to life in an interactive way.

School students from Linshu County took part in group challenges and experience activities under the guidance of teachers and defense-education instructors. The on-site programs encouraged collaboration, self-discipline and courage, turning abstract national defense concepts into practical, memorable learning experiences. Organizers said the event helped plant the seeds of patriotism and national defense consciousness among young people, and promoted the integrated development of national defense education and school quality-oriented education.

Linyi will continue to expand immersive national defense education for teenagers, encouraging more youngsters to understand national defense, care about national security and inherit the revolutionary spirit of the older generation.
