As Mid‑Autumn Festival draws near, community‑level hand‑made mooncake‑making events were organized across Hedong District. Local residents, children and community volunteers gathered to craft traditional mooncakes from scratch, reviving festive customs and passing on warm holiday sentiments among neighbours.
Participants mixed dough, prepared sweet fillings, pressed patterned mooncake moulds and arranged freshly‑baked mooncakes onto cooling trays. Adults guided children through every step of hand‑crafting. During the activity, participants shared Mid‑Autumn folklore, chatted about family reunion traditions and exchanged holiday greetings.
These community public‑welfare events bring festival atmosphere to grassroots neighbourhoods. Home‑made mooncakes were also presented to elderly residents living alone, families in need and community volunteers, extending holiday care to vulnerable groups within the community.
