Linyi holds collective wedding for 60 couples

A collective wedding ceremony for 60 couples was held in Linyi  on Sept 28 under the theme "Celebrating nation and family together, filling Yimeng with love."

Linyi has held the collective wedding for three consecutive years since 2024, helping 1,500 couples start their families and fostering good social customs across the Yimeng region. This year, the National Conference on Social Etiquette and Civility in Rural Areas was held in Linyi, promoting the city's experience in wedding customs reform nationwide. The Linyi municipal Party committee and government will continue to support young people in starting businesses and pursuing innovation, contributing to the city's development as a genuine provincial sub-center.

At the ceremony, officials presented collective wedding certificates to the 60 couples. Ten couples marking their golden wedding anniversaries presented scrolls bearing family traditions to the newlyweds, and a representative of the golden-anniversary couples offered blessings. A representative of the newlyweds delivered a vote of thanks and led the reading of an initiative on fostering good family traditions.

After the ceremony, the couples and the golden-anniversary couples boarded a bus decorated as a wedding vehicle to Sculpture Park for photographs and experienced a boat tour along the city's waterways.

The event is a vivid practice of Linyi's efforts to deepen wedding customs reform and promote changes in social customs, combining traditional wedding culture with the civility of the new era and guiding young people toward civilized and frugal views on marriage and love.
