Daxing town builds science plazas to promote blueberry industry

Daxing town in Linshu county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, has built science popularization plazas, corridors and a blueberry story hall this year to promote its blueberry industry, under a joint development project aimed at building a hub for the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, a benchmark for agricultural services, a bridgehead for blueberry exports and a common prosperity area for reservoir resettlement residents.

The science plaza features interactive exhibition and teaching equipment covering the biological characteristics of blueberries, modern cultivation techniques, smart agriculture applications and product processing knowledge, creating an immersive agricultural technology experience space.

The town has also built a field-level science demonstration system. In local blueberry planting demonstration areas, it has systematically planned improved variety display zones, ecological planting demonstration sites and science tour routes, turning planting bases into open classrooms through signage, on-site teaching and farming experiences.

For science tourism, the town is developing study tour courses for student groups and residents based on the technology and culture of the blueberry industry, integrating science knowledge into planting and picking so that visitors learn while touring, raising the industry's added value.
