Mengshan Mama heritage cloth draws overseas buyers at sourcing conference

Handicrafts made with Yimeng old-style cloth, a provincial intangible cultural heritage, drew strong interest from overseas buyers at the 4th Linyi Trade City International Sourcing Conference in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, on Oct 28.

The Mengshan Mama brand follows 72 traditional production steps for the cloth and displayed tiger-shaped pillows, tiger-head hats, zodiac figurines and cloth bedding. Cloth pendants were the best sellers, with more than 300 sold on site, along with more than 100 tiger-head hats, and orders kept coming for zodiac ornaments, cloth sheets and pillows.

Zheng Guangyun, a fifth-generation inheritor of the Yimeng old-style cloth technique, met buyers at the stand.
