Linyi Entrepreneurs Convention puts business leaders in spotlight

The golden rooster of the "phoenix list" release section at the Third Linyi Entrepreneurs Convention aims to encourage more Linyi entrepreneurs.

Linyi's entrepreneurs took the spotlight at the city's first major economic gathering of the Year of the Horse on Feb 25. Decorated with red flowers, they shared their success stories at the Third Linyi Entrepreneurs Convention.

In 2025, Linyi's GDP reached 686.2 billion yuan ($100.34 billion), ranking fifth in Shandong province. The city now has over 1.56 million market entities, the second highest in the province, with private enterprises contributing more than 90 percent to tax revenue, innovation, and urban employment.

"As we aim to become a provincial sub-center and a trillion-yuan city during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–30), this convention sends a clear signal of respect for entrepreneurs," said Li Shanhong, chairman of Shandong Bihai Packaging Materials.

Beyond ceremony, Linyi announced 20 measures to support private enterprises in 2026, including financing solutions, cost reduction, and improved innovation services, shifting from "government-offered" to "enterprise-ordered" services.

The results are clear, with Linyi-based Ganlee Pharmaceutical investing 5 billion yuan to build its largest insulin production base in the city. Meanwhile, Linyi Zhenfei Trading has expanded its market globally, exporting 90 percent of its products.

This year, Linyi plans over 300 overseas exhibitions and trade fairs with more than 3,000 exhibitors expected, and three new international pavilions. Additionally, it plans to set up 11 overseas service stations to help local businesses expand globally.
