355 million jin of "Golden Garlic Scapes" in Lanling, Linyi ensure stable prices and Increased Income

In early May 2026, 328,000 mu of garlic in Lanling County ushered in the garlic scape harvest season, with a total output of 355 million jin. Relying on the unique Shajiang black soil and mineral-rich groundwater in the alluvial plain of southern Shandong, Lanling garlic scapes boast excellent quality, with a brand value of 27.521 billion yuan. They are included in the first batch of the China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement and have won the gold medal at the 110th Panama Pacific International Exposition.

To ensure a bumper harvest and increased income of garlic scapes, Lanling County has realized the two-way efforts of a proactive government and an effective market. The government made careful plans in advance, issued production and sales plans and emergency plans, coordinated multiple departments to provide support, strictly cracked down on market irregularities, and opened "green channels". On the market side, capital and cold chain guarantees were strengthened, with 1.8 billion yuan of acquisition credit funds invested and 700,000 tons of cold storage capacity to ensure smooth storage and transportation, attracting purchasers from all over the country.
