Wang Haijun, a deputy to the Linyi Municipal People's Congress, has devoted eight years to developing the leek industry in Shagou Town, Yishui County. Transforming the traditional ordinary crop into a pillar industry worth over 200 million yuan annually, he has helped more than 1,200 farming households achieve prosperity and won a number of provincial and national honors.

Returning to his hometown to start a business in 2016, Wang targeted prominent local industry problems including scattered and extensive planting, backward technology, insufficient brand awareness and uncompetitive pricing for high-quality produce. He invested heavily in building standardized planting bases and formulated a full-process standardized planting system, driving the transformation from scattered individual farming to large-scale and standardized cultivation. Through in-depth industry-university-research cooperation, the base has introduced modern agricultural technologies, improved crop varieties, adopted innovative planting modes, promoted green pollution-free cultivation, and established a full-process quality traceability system, greatly enhancing product quality and planting efficiency. The base has been certified as a national-level "Three Products and One Standard" planting base, and its products have obtained multiple national certifications including green food and high-quality special agricultural products.

In addition, Wang pioneered a Party building alliance platform and established an innovative development model integrating alliances, cooperatives, supermarkets and growers. By integrating upstream and downstream resources and realizing unified planting, technological sharing and centralized sales, the industry's fragmented development challenges have been effectively addressed.
To date, the local leek industry's total output value has exceeded 260 million yuan, steadily benefiting over 2,200 residents from 17 villages and blazing a distinctive path for rural revitalization featured by Party building leadership, technological empowerment and clustered development.
