Linyi's frozen dessert makers are finding new opportunities overseas, as targeted customs support helps local ice cream producers meet foreign standards and move temperature-sensitive products faster to international consumers.

At Shandong Bingzhengneng Food Co Ltd, production lines have been running at speed as ice cream products are packed for shipment to New Zealand. The company, already known in the domestic market, decided this year to test overseas sales but initially hesitated because it was unfamiliar with destination-country rules on food additives, labeling and market access.

After learning of the company's difficulties, Linyi Customs formed a technical team to provide one-on-one guidance. Officials reviewed the requirements for entering markets including New Zealand and Australia, helping the company adjust its formulas, labels and compliance procedures. It also opened a local inspection green channel and offered appointment-based inspections and digital certificate issuance to shorten clearance time.

"Efficient customs services allowed our products to reach overseas markets in the freshest condition," said Li Yilin, head of the company. By mid-May, its chocolate- and milk-flavored ice creams had entered New Zealand, with a third order under production.

The case reflects a broader push by Linyi Customs to help specialty food makers go global. This year, three ice cream companies in the city have completed 15 export shipments worth 2.3 million yuan ($320,000), creating fresh momentum for local cold-chain food exports.
