Shengde Plastic takes Linyi tarpaulins global

Linyi Shengde Plastic Co Ltd is growing from a township manufacturer into a global supplier of polyethylene tarpaulins, showing how Linyi-made products are reaching overseas markets through specialization, technology and targeted product development.

Located in Liguan town, Lanshan district, the company has focused on tarpaulin manufacturing for 25 years. Its plant is equipped with 200 advanced 2-meter looms and 100 world-class 4-m full-width water-jet looms, producing tarpaulins used in freight yards, construction, agriculture, aquaculture, transport, emergency flood control and outdoor leisure.

"Only with a strong focus can we make better products and make the company stronger," said Dai Qingguo, head of the company. Shengde Plastic has built a full-process production system covering polyethylene material modification, wire drawing, weaving and coating lamination, supported by a technical team of more than 100 professionals. Its vehicle tarpaulins have ranked first in national sales for 10 consecutive years.

To expand overseas, Shengde Plastic develops products for specific markets, including sun- and acid-rain-resistant tarpaulins for cherry growers in Chile and aquaculture membranes adapted to different climates.

"Whether in the severe cold of Northeast China or the tropical heat, our tarpaulins can adapt with ease, " said Wei Xianchao, head of the company's R&D department. Its self-developed polymer formulas can extend product life by 50 to 80 percent, he said.

With 15 patents, 12 software copyrights, more than 300 domestic dealers and customers in over 30 countries and regions, Shengde Plastic reflects Linyi manufacturing going global.
