High-value cucumber industry takes shape in Fangzhuang village, Yinan

Fangzhuang Village in Xinji Town, Yinan once suffered low returns from conventional cucumber varieties, with wholesale prices as low as 0.3 yuan per jin. Relying on Party-led cooperatives, the village transformed its cucumber industry through variety upgrading and full industrial chain construction.

Village Party members took the lead in trialing premium Zhongnong Cuiyu No.3 cucumbers, which reach over 10 yuan per jin on wholesale markets. Supporting special agricultural loans, live-stream sales, centralized trading markets and post-processing for cosmetics and health food extend value chains. The village trading center handles 2 million jin of cucumbers daily, driving stable employment for 1,200 villagers.

Linyi will promote the Party-led characteristic agricultural model across rural areas, introduce improved varieties and financial support mechanisms, and help farmers increase income via industrial chain value upgrading.
