Linyi Trade City released its monthly commodity price index for June on July 3, recording a total index of 102.52 points. The index fell 0.13 point month-on-month and 0.51 point year-on-year, yet rose 0.40 point compared with the start of the year.

Among 14 major commodity categories monitored, five saw price rises, four remained flat and five declined. Hardware & electrical supplies and stationery took the top two spots of rising sectors, while steel and board products led the falling categories. Rising costs of raw materials and post-college shopping demand pushed up hardware and stationery prices; off-season market demand and falling raw material prices dragged steel and board prices down amid slow construction work in hot rainy weather.

The index reflects real supply and demand changes in Linyi's wholesale market, providing data reference for merchants, industrial enterprises and local economic regulation to stabilize bulk commodity circulation.
