Over four decades of development, Yishui County has evolved from small rural baking stoves into a cluster of 700 certified food manufacturers. From January to May 2026, its food industry output reached 11.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2 percent, realizing three systematic upgrades from products to brands, single items to industrial clusters and local circulation to global layout.
To break the low-profit homogenization bottleneck, Yishui launched “Yimeng Blossom” regional public food brand operated by state-owned enterprises, screening premium products for unified packaging and marketing. Two industrial parks covering over 1,500 mu gather nearly 200 food firms, forming complete industrial chains of corn starch, soybean milk powder and sachima that occupy large national market shares. Local food enterprises also expand domestic exhibition channels and explore cross-border e-commerce routes to export products to Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
The three-dimensional transformation solves the “low-end manufacturing” dilemma of Yishui's food sector, builds a distinctive industrial brand for the “China Food City”, and provides a replicable development model for county-level featured processing industries nationwide.
