Yinan builds integrated sports, culture and tourism industry around fishing tournaments

A complete integrated industrial chain combining sports, culture and tourism has taken shape in Yinan County centered on competitive fishing events.

The 2026 Huahu High Lake Thousand Anglers Tournament was recently held at Gaohu Reservoir in Andi Town, Yinan. Over 60 percent of participants came from provinces outside Shandong. Long-stay fishing visitors drive booming local catering, homestay and agricultural specialty sales.

Huahu Fishing Town built on Gaohu Reservoir is a national professional fishing base. Yinan has developed a four-season event matrix featuring fishing contests, equestrian galas, cycling challenges and village basketball games, with more than 20 provincial and municipal branded events hosted annually.

The county links fishing competitions with rural consumption to extend the whole industrial chain. Tourist flows translate into tangible growth for local homestays, farm restaurants and roadside stalls. Villagers operate food stalls and fruit booths during tournaments to gain extra stable income.

Yinan integrates fishing, mountain sightseeing and red cultural resources to form multi-dimensional travel routes. The sports-tourism model lengthens visitor stay times, boosts comprehensive consumption and helps villagers achieve stable income growth at their doorsteps.
