Wutai town's yellow peaches fuel rural vitalization in Pingyi

Wutai Town in Pingyi County, known as China's Yellow Peach Hometown, builds a whole industrial chain around geographical indication Wutai yellow peaches to increase farmers’ income.The town boasts 30,000 mu of yellow peach orchards with an annual output of 150,000 tons. "Wutai Yellow Peach" holds national geographical indication trademark certification and green food qualification. Over 6,800 local households engage in peach planting.

To solve the problem of unstable fresh fruit prices, the county and town invested in cold storage warehouses, four canned peach production lines and fruit wine workshops. Relying on Pingyi’s canned fruit industrial cluster with 62 processing enterprises, fresh peaches are deeply processed into canned goods, fruit pulp and fruit wine to extend the value chain.

E-commerce live streaming and long-distance cold chain logistics expand national sales channels. Fruit brokers transport fresh peaches to Shanghai, Xuzhou and other cities every harvest season. The industrial chain brings an average annual income growth of over 7,000 yuan per mu for growers, and drives related packaging, transportation and service jobs for local villagers.

As a core raw material supply base for Pingyi's national canned fruit industry cluster, Wutai Town forms a complete model of standardized planting, centralized acquisition and deep processing, creating a sustainable sweet wealth industry for rural revitalization.
