Linyi writes new chapter in smart logistics with autonomous delivery vehicles

From wheelbarrows of wartime frontline supply to intelligent unmanned delivery vehicles, Linyi carries forward the Yimeng Spirit while developing digital logistics with replicable regulatory solutions.

As China's renowned logistics capital, Linyi hosts over 2,000 logistics enterprises with daily cargo volume exceeding 200,000 tons. To address scattered data and safety risks of low-speed unmanned vehicles, Shandong's first government-led intelligent supervision platform for autonomous vehicles was launched in October 2025.

More than 90 percent of unmanned delivery vehicles running on urban roads have accessed the platform, realizing full-track tracing, real-time monitoring and one-stop online approval under flexible "loose access, strict supervision" rules.

Linyi Logistics Science and Technology Research Institute has initiated national group standards for low-speed delivery vehicle monitoring technology, turning local practice into nationwide reference models. Over 20 cities including Weifang and Yangzhou have sent research delegations to learn Linyi's experience.

At present, more than 1,000 unmanned vehicles operate across Linyi's delivery networks covering express hubs, supermarket distribution and pharmaceutical transport. The city will further improve the whole industrial ecosystem of intelligent logistics and set a national benchmark for autonomous vehicle management.
