Linyi International Product Selection Center opens to boost global trade
The Linyi International Product Selection Center opened in Lanshan district, Linyi, Shandong on Sept 28. The facility houses 600 foreign trade stores, consolidating source goods from 136 local wholesale markets and 5,000 to 6,000 local factories. This milestone marks a key step in Linyi Trade City's transformation from a domestic distribution hub into an international trade gateway.
As a renowned commercial and logistics city, Linyi Trade City boasts over 6 million product varieties across 27 categories. To achieve its goal of becoming a global distribution and logistics hub by 2035, the city has implemented a comprehensive foreign trade ecosystem project, with the new center serving as its core carrier.
The center has introduced an innovative model in which a single store connects with over 10 source factories. Under this approach, buyers can complete multi-category sourcing by engaging with just one lead merchant, allowing overseas buyers to complete multi-category sourcing by connecting with just one lead merchant.
Services covering sample display, negotiation, customs clearance, and international logistics are all handled within the center, resolving the pain points of fragmented export processes.
A local manufacturer noted that while their products suited Southeast Asian markets, they previously lacked direct access to overseas clients. After settling in the center, they gained an independent exhibition space, and orders from India and Indonesia arrived even before the official opening.
The center is part of a broader effort to build a complete foreign trade ecosystem integrating cross-border e-commerce, market procurement, and international logistics. From January to August, Linyi Trade's import and export volume reached 85.75 billion yuan ($12.78 billion), up 9.7 percent year-on-year.
