Gangshang town in Tancheng county, Linyi in East China's Shandong province, has moved to resolve the difficulties of local wood products companies by shifting from passive service to proactive outreach, helping one enterprise secure additional factory space for expansion.

The Tancheng Wooden Toy Industrial Park, located in the town, is a key specialty park in the county. Drawing on local wood resources, it covers the full chain of wood products research and development, production and sales, gathering a group of small and medium-sized wood enterprises with strong growth potential.

Senyuan Wood, one of the park's enterprises, has built a solid reputation for product quality and seen steady growth in orders. The company had previously purchased five workshops in the park, but as market demand expanded, its existing space and equipment could no longer meet order requirements. Planning to add production lines and expand its workforce, it faced difficulties in negotiating workshop rentals — poor communication, high prices and cumbersome procedures — which held back its expansion.

When town staff learned of the company's situation during routine visits, the town government placed the request on a priority service list and assigned a dedicated team to follow up, providing full agency and assistance services. The team worked as a bridge between the enterprise, the government and the park developer, visiting the company to understand its production scale, expansion plans, rental budget and space needs, while also communicating with the developer about the park's prospects and the company's potential. Through repeated consultation, they secured favorable rental terms, including discounts and flexible lease periods, to minimize the company's operating costs.

The effort resulted in a lease for six workshops, effectively reducing rental costs and removing the obstacle to expansion. With leasing procedures under way, the company is now setting up production lines, recruiting staff and expanding capacity. Once in operation, it will increase output of wooden toy products, broaden its product range and strengthen its market competitiveness.

Town officials said the case reflects Gangshang's continuing efforts to improve its business environment and support enterprises, with services guided by enterprise needs and focused on solving practical problems.
