The 2026 Linyi water conservancy work safety technical skills innovation and promotion competition was held at Linyi Vocational College in East China's Shandong province on Oct 10, with 282 skilled technicians from across the city competing.

The competition was jointly hosted by the municipal water resources bureau, the municipal federation of trade unions and the municipal human resources and social security bureau. It was organized around key work safety tasks in water conservancy and featured four categories and 10 contest subjects covering the professional skills of work safety supervisors, special scheme drafters, special operations personnel and industry practitioners, including theoretical tests, practical contests and scheme drafting.

The contests tested participants' professional knowledge and practical ability. After the competition, 110 individual first, second and third prizes and eight outstanding organizational team awards were presented.

The event aimed to promote learning, practice and excellence through competition, strengthening the foundation of work safety in the city's water conservancy sector and improving practitioners' safety skills and performance. Outstanding competitors will be selected to prepare for provincial competitions, contributing to a strong talent base for the sector's high-quality and safe development.
