Linyi Trade City in East China's Shandong province held or took part in 421 overseas exhibition and trade events from January to August this year under its "hundreds of delegations, thousands of enterprises, Linyi Trade City going global" initiative, sending 1,852 company visits abroad and covering 74 countries and regions and 113 cities across Southeast Asia, Africa and Central Asia.

One such event was the second Lanhua Korea Expo — the Lanhua special session of the 2026 third Korea e-commerce (cross-border) expo — held in Seoul. The event drew professional buyers from South Korea, Russia, Japan and Mongolia, who held face-to-face talks and signed deals with more than 130 quality Linyi local product companies, generating on-site transactions of more than 30 million yuan.

Mi Shiqiao, chairman of Shandong Kami Home Technology Co Ltd, who joined the delegation, said the mattresses her company presented drew a strong response in the South Korean market, winning orders and giving the company a clearer picture of local consumer demand to guide product development. After returning, she immediately reviewed the market information gathered at the expo and optimized product design, incorporating overseas trends into research, development and marketing.

During the expo, host Lanhua Group signed strategic cooperation agreements with domestic and overseas business associations and companies including the Seoul e-commerce association, Ijenadu Co Ltd and Heze Hefa International Trade Co Ltd. Guan Zhaojun, Party secretary, chairman and president of Lanhua Group, said the group will continue to mobilize resources based on its supply chain integration capacity to bring more quality Linyi products into the South Korean market.

In Central Asia, the third China (Linyi)-Kazakhstan International Commodity Exhibition was held from Sept 10 to 12, organized by Linyi Trade City Group. It brought together 108 Linyi factory-based enterprises showing specialty products including photovoltaic lighting, plastic products, decorative materials and hardware tools, and received more than 5,000 buyer visits.

The Linyi Trade City management committee said it will draw on Yiwu's development experience to advance the city's internationalization and enlarge its foreign trade base, using special funds to organize companies for 59 key overseas exhibitions, 402 overseas promotional exhibitions and eight domestic international exhibitions, build 100 overseas warehouses and provide tiered training for 40,000 merchants. It will also host the fourth international buyers conference and aims to receive 50,000 international business visitors over the year.
