Lanshan district draws 2,000-plus overseas buyers to sourcing conference sessions

Lanshan district, the home ground of Linyi Trade City, hosted 13 of the 15 district-level sessions at the 4th Linyi Trade City International Sourcing Conference, which opened on Oct 28, receiving more than 2,000 overseas buyers.

"These tricycles are solid, with fresh designs and functions. I want to order a batch. And people here are so friendly," said Christ, a Nigerian buyer.

The district's pull rests on its market and logistics base. Lanshan has 100 specialized wholesale markets carrying 27 categories and more than 6 million product varieties, with over 3,000 domestic freight routes reaching every county-level city and port, at logistics prices about 30 percent below the national average.

At the Linyi International Product Selection Center session, Ayman, an Egyptian buyer who speaks fluent Chinese and runs a trading company in China, brought his own clients. "Starting from the selection center, I want to sell Chinese goods from Linyi to the world," he said.

The center recruits Linyi manufacturers with export-ready products according to overseas orders, and its model of one storefront linking more than 10 source factories pools 5,000 to 6,000 local manufacturers into a standardized supply chain resource.

Delivery is handled through platforms such as the Shandong Daji Yiming international logistics park. Lü Fengjie, manager of Linyi Baiju International Trade Co, which exports hardware, panels, tires and daily goods to Africa, said shipments to Guinea that once took four months, or six at the slowest, now arrive in 45 days, and his monthly consignments have grown from one to more than 10 since he joined the platform in April.

Lanshan is one of Shandong's three consolidation centers for China-Europe freight trains, and the first direct service from Shandong to Hairatan in Afghanistan recently added a new route. With the city's international port code CNLYI approved, a road-rail-sea-air multimodal system is taking shape.

The opening day coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Lantian textile market, Linyi's first specialized wholesale market. The Lantian auto session drew nearly 200 international buyers, with on-site used-car export orders expected to exceed 400 vehicles.

"From founding Linyi's first specialized wholesale market to welcoming global clients 40 years on, Lantian has crossed from traditional trade to internationalization," said Hua Shuyong, Party secretary and chairman of Lantian Group.
