24 Solar Terms | Awakening of Insects

The spring thunder ushers in a new journey, and all things regain their vitality. The solar term Awakening of Insects is traditionally divided into three pentads, each marked by distinct signs of life. For the Chinese people, during the first pentad, peach blossoms begin to burst into bloom, bringing the first splashes of vibrant color to the land. By the second pentad, the sounds of birdsong become increasingly frequent. In the third pentad, spring is in full swing.
