A digital cultural exhibition, The Light of Chinese Civilization, began on April 27 (local time) at the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific (USP) in Suva, offering Fijian audiences an immersive journey into China's traditional culture through cutting‑edge technology.

The exhibition features two main sections: "Seeing China" and "Confucius Code". "Seeing China" decodes traditional patterns and colors through digital displays, while "Confucius Code" presents Confucius' life, wisdom (benevolence, rites, the golden mean), and the global spread of Confucian thought via digital storytelling.

Visitors can interact with high-definition screens and experience four interactive units, including a digital interpretation of an inverted-flow pot and a creative design of a robe from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Another popular activity was virtual exhibits on traditional patterns and colors.

A highlight of the exhibition is the integration of local Fijian culture. The team decoded patterns of Fiji's national bird, the green-collared lorikeet, and other traditional Fijian motifs, creating a dialogue between the two cultures. Local USP students were trained as Chinese docents, enriching the visitor experience.

Following the exhibition, Professor Zhao Haiying from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications gave a lecture on the beauty of traditional Chinese patterns and colors, further deepening cross‑cultural understanding.

The exhibition was co‑hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Jining's Confucius Museum, strengthening cultural ties between China and Fiji.
