Linyi secures first gold medal at Shandong's Inaugural Special Olympics

The Shandong Paralympic Games and Special Olympics kicked off in Tancheng, with Linyi clinching the first gold medal at the province's inaugural Special Olympics.

On May 13, the opening event of the 12th Shandong Provincial Games for the Disabled and the 1st Special Olympic Games launched in Tancheng County, Linyi City. Approximately 300 athletes across four disability categories—physical, visual, hearing, and intellectual disabilities—gathered on the field to compete in chess and ball games, showcasing the spirit of self-improvement through their relentless efforts.

It is reported that Linyi Team One won the first gold medal of the Shandong Provincial Special Olympic Games in the women's doubles bowls event for the 8-11 age group.
