Cherry industrial chain fuels rural prosperity in Pingyi County

Cherry cultivation has evolved into a pillar wealth-generating industry in Baiyan Town, Pingyi County after decades of development. Spanning 28,000 mu across the township, the sector covers over 7,000 farming households with an annual industrial output exceeding 500 million yuan. 

Rooted in decades of seed selection and breed upgrading led by local village cadres, growers adopt an integrated sales model combining e-commerce, orchard picking and bulk purchasing. Local authorities integrate cherry agriculture with red tourism and rural sightseeing, forming a complete industrial chain of planting, processing, sightseeing and leisure to advance comprehensive rural vitalization.
